Evanescence vocalist Amy Lee has revealed that the band will release their
follow-up to 2006's The Open Door in October.
The band entered the studio in April with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush, Stone Sour) and, as previously reported, Amy has also confirmed that former guitarist Troy McLawhorn has returned to the band. McLawhorn toured with the band in 2007.
"Yes! I'm proud to announce that Troy is back in Ev!" writes the vocalist in a post on Twitter. "We love you Troy! Welcome back."

Muse start work on new album without Matt Bellamy

http://i2.cdnds.net/11/20/M/music_muse.jpgMuse will start work on their new album without frontman Matt Bellamy.

The 'Uprising' band have previously stated that they are planning a "softer"-sounding album for next year, but now the group's bassist, Chris Wolstenholme, has revealed that he has been appointed the position of sole songwriter.

"Matt's raised the bar quite high in terms of songwriting. I'm a bit nervous because I don't want to write a song and it be responsible for the demise of the band," Wolstenholme told The Sun.

Singer Bellamy is currently taking a break from the band following his engagement to Kate Hudson ahead of the birth of their first child together.

Muse will headline this year's Reading and Leeds festivals and will play their second studio album Origin of Symmetry in its entirety for the last time.
