Muse will start work on their new album without frontman Matt Bellamy.The 'Uprising' band have previously stated that they are planning a "softer"-sounding album for next year, but now the group's bassist, Chris Wolstenholme, has revealed that he has been appointed the position of sole songwriter.
"Matt's raised the bar quite high in terms of songwriting. I'm a bit nervous because I don't want to write a song and it be responsible for the demise of the band," Wolstenholme told The Sun.
Singer Bellamy is currently taking a break from the band following his engagement to Kate Hudson ahead of the birth of their first child together.
Muse will headline this year's Reading and Leeds festivals and will play their second studio album Origin of Symmetry in its entirety for the last time.
